GCDP Monthly Meeting

The monthly meetings of the Grant County Democratic Party are held at 7 PM on the last Thursday of each month. Meetings are held at the Williamstown Senior Citizens Center located at 400 North Main Street in Williamstown, KY. The Senior Citizens Center is located in the rear portion of the Williamstown City Building.

"Marking Twain, an Impersonation" - May 7th & 14th, 2010

We're pleased and excited to announce that Lewis Hankins, of Hilton Head, SC and formerly of Dry Ridge, KY, will perform "Marking Twain, an Impersonation" on behalf of and to raise funds for the Grant County Democratic Party!!

Mr. Hankins is a very well-known performer and since 1973 has presented his show in nearly every state. Mr. Hankins also performed as a representative for the Delta Queen Steamboat Company as their historian, presenting lectures on various subjects including the Revolutionary War and Mississippi River commerce. He also did a one-man show as Mark Twain for passengers of the Delta Queen, a famous paddle wheeler, and the American Queen, the world's largest paddle wheel steamboat plying the waterways of the heartland of America.

Fans of Mark Twain, humorist and author of 'Tom Sawyer,' 'Huck Finn,'  and numerous other works, are recommended to see this unforgettable presentation of history and literature. Mr. Hankins may recount and discuss Mark Twain/Samuel Clemens' Kentucky roots and connections in his dissertation. If time permits questions will be taken from the audience.

The show will be presented at the Welfare House at Grant County Park in Crittenden, Kentucky at 7 pm on Friday, May 7, 2010 and at 7 pm on Friday, May 14, 2010. Doors open at 6:30 pm.  Tickets are $10 each. Tickets are available through the law offices of William R. Adkins, 1506 N.
